FAQ — Wilsons Promontory

Can we skip Mt Oberon?

Yes. If you're not hiking, we add Pillar Point lookout and Vereker Outlook (both short drives) and finish with a longer Norman Beach swim. Same price.

Will we see wombats?

Almost certainly. The Tidal River campground lawn at dusk is the best spot — they graze totally unbothered by people. Wallabies, kangaroos, emus, and crimson rosellas are all common too.

Is this trip suitable for kids?

Older kids (8+) who can hike love it. For under-8s, swap Mt Oberon for the Loo-Errn boardwalk (flat, accessible, also wildlife-rich). Tell us when booking.

What if the weather turns?

The Prom has its own weather system — we monitor and can reschedule for free up to 36 hours ahead in case of forecast storms or bushfire warnings. Light rain we still run.
